Event Detail
Amazing Thailand GI Tour & Trail Running 2026 included a nationwide virtual challenge alongside five regional trail-running events. The programme was launched by the Tourism Authority of Thailand to combine sport, tourism and local Geographical Indication products.
77 km cumulative virtual challenge
Virtual participants registered through ThaiRun and accumulated a total of 77 km from their registration date through 26 June 2026. The challenge could be completed from anywhere in Thailand and was separate from the physical trail races held across five regions.
Prize opportunities
The official programme advertised a chance for virtual finishers to receive one of 100 GI Set prizes, together with accommodation-voucher opportunities intended to encourage future travel. These were conditional prize opportunities, not guaranteed entitlements for every finisher.
Registration period
Registration ran from 2 April through 15 May 2026 via the official ThaiRun event page. A verified virtual-specific entry fee was not exposed in the official government/TAT material reviewed, so ARC leaves the fee blank rather than importing physical-race pricing.
Credibility
The virtual challenge is corroborated by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thailand's official government portal and the Thai Government Public Relations Department, all pointing to the same ThaiRun registration URL and 77 km virtual format. This is strong institutional evidence.
Prizes
