Event Detail
Hong Kong 298 II (港勁298 II) is Run2gather's self-guided challenge across the MacLehose, Hong Kong, Lantau and Wilson trails. There is no mass start: participants choose when to tackle the designated stages. This is a virtual-timing event on real Hong Kong routes, not a run-anywhere challenge.
Tracking and verification
Check in at each stage's start, every required intermediate point and its finish. Record the activity in Run2gather or an approved app and match the evidence to the event. Stage time is calculated between start and finish check-ins. There is no individual stage time limit, but all activity must finish by 11:59pm Hong Kong time on 31 December. Records must be uploaded by 11:59pm on 1 January 2027. Missing check-ins or unmatched records prevent valid ranking.
Stage distances
The organiser publishes these stage lengths, in kilometres:
- MacLehose: M1 24; M2 9.5; M3 16; M4 12; M5 16; M6 21.5.
- Hong Kong: H1 16; H2 15; H3 14.
- Lantau: L1 16; L2 12; L3 15; L4 16; L5 9.
- Wilson: W1 11; W2 17; W3 13; W4 16; W5 21.
Use the official stage GPX files and checkpoint instructions before setting out. The name '298' is event branding, not a verified continuous race distance. ARC's distance cards currently represent selected exact stage lengths, not the complete range above.
Participation notes
Free registration does not include the separately sold finisher medals or clothing. Optional medal purchases also require successful completion of the relevant route tasks. Prepare for a self-guided outing rather than assuming staffed race-day aid stations or organised transport.
The detailed rules start on 15 March, while the overview card says 11 March. This listing follows the detailed rules; the registration and December activity deadlines agree.
Race Pack Information
No conventional race-day pack collection. Paid, earned medals are tentatively scheduled for collection or dispatch in mid-to-late January 2027; the overview still says details will be announced. Collection is free; SF delivery is freight collect. Confirm the collection location, dispatch date, overseas delivery eligibility and charges before ordering.
