Move With Purpose Run Japan 2026 (Virtual Challenge)

Move With Purpose Run 2026 is an annual charity challenge organised by NPO YouMeWe. This listing covers its month-long virtual component, which is separate from the 2K, 5K and 10K in-person Arakawa River run held on 10 October.

Complete more than marathon distance

Run, jog or walk at least 42 km during October. The distance may be completed in one day or accumulated across the month, anywhere and either solo or with others. Participants submit proof of the completed distance using an activity tracker after the challenge.

The organiser describes the practical target as roughly 1.35 km per day across October. This is therefore a cumulative charity challenge, not a certified marathon or timed race.

Registration and fundraising

Participants register by making a donation to YouMeWe through the event's sign-up flow. The virtual challenge page does not publish a separate fixed virtual-entry amount in the text reviewed, so ARC does not invent a fee. A separate organiser post advertises a JPY5,000 donation for the physical 10 October event; that amount has not been automatically applied to the virtual category.

Charity and prizes

YouMeWe says proceeds support programmes helping young people in institutional care in Japan build skills, confidence and independence. Finishers are eligible for a prize draw supported by IHG Hotels, including an advertised stay for two at ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa. Prize eligibility is not the same as a guaranteed finisher reward and is limited by the published conditions.

NPO YouMeWe publishes the event directly on its own website and has current campaign updates throughout October, providing a clear first-party organiser trail.
