THAIATHON - THE MERIT 5K Thailand 2026-2027 (Virtual)

THAIATHON - THE MERIT is an active 5 km virtual challenge in Checkrace's THAIATHON Series. Participants can run anywhere and accumulate the target across multiple sessions rather than completing it in one continuous effort.

How it works

Register through Checkrace, download the digital E-BIB, record eligible runs using a GPS-enabled app or watch, then submit the accumulated result through the Checkrace system. The THAIATHON FAQ says long-distance targets do not need to be completed in one day and may be accumulated during the challenge period.

Supported tracking examples include Strava, Garmin Connect, Nike Run Club, Apple Health and Google Fit.

Rewards and fulfilment

THAIATHON states that race packs include a Premium Dri-FIT shirt, finisher medal and digital E-BIB. Shirts are sent before the challenge begins, while medals are shipped after the target is completed and verified, generally within 14-30 days after the event period.

Timing and registration

Checkrace currently lists THE MERIT as open for registration and runnable anywhere/anytime, with the active listing spanning late December 2026 through 30 December 2027. The public index does not expose a separate exact closing date or event-specific fee, so ARC does not invent either.

Credibility

THAIATHON is operated by Checkrace / Race Up Work Co., Ltd., with a published Bangkok office, support email and phone. The official site states the platform serves more than 100,000 runners and currently maintains 17 active virtual-run medals. This provides a strong organiser/platform trail, though ARC has not independently audited fulfilment.
