IIT Hyderabad Half Marathon 2026

The IIT Hyderabad Half Marathon 2026 returns for its third edition on Sunday, 22 November, with a morning of timed and recreational road running on the institute's green Kandi campus in Telangana. The organiser, IIT Hyderabad Runners Club, welcomes university students, staff and the wider running community. All four advertised entries use the Sports and Cultural Complex (SNCC) as the event base.

Courses and event-day programme

The 21.1 km half marathon follows two campus loops; the 10K and 5K use single-loop courses. The organiser's maps show campus roads, modern academic buildings and greener sections, with hydration and medical assistance provided along the routes. The competitive half marathon, 10K and 5K use RFID timing; the separate 5K fun run is untimed.

• 06:15: Half marathon starts.
• 06:30: Timed 10K starts.
• 06:40: Timed 5K and untimed 5K fun run start.
• 07:30: Prize presentation is scheduled.

The organiser asks participants to report at least one hour before their start. Parking is available within the campus, with volunteers directing vehicles, but allow extra time to enter the institute and reach the race village. Water, electrolytes, other refreshments and medical support are advertised.

Registration and race-pack guidance

Entry is through the organiser-linked iFinish 2026 registration platform. Registrations are non-transferable unless the organiser announces an exception. The official site does not yet specify the 2026 bib-collection location, days or hours; runners should await updated organiser instructions and bring their registration confirmation and valid identification. Do not assume bibs will be issued on race morning.

What is included, and the latest organiser update

IIT Hyderabad's own October 2026 announcement confirms additional participant goodies beyond the basic event website: an event T-shirt, goodie bag and souvenir, free race-day photographs, and post-race breakfast, along with the finisher medal, certificate where applicable, and medical/hydration support. Timed categories include RFID timing; the recreational 5K is untimed, so an official timed result should not be expected. All prizes are awarded separately for men's and women's categories in the timed 5K, 10K and half marathon, with INR 10,000 / 7,000 / 5,000 for the first three places in each.

The organiser still states that bib pickup details are to be announced and that runners should carry valid identification and confirmation. The event website already supplies genuine current-edition course-map graphics for the 21K, 10K and 5K. Check those maps shortly before race day for any course amendments.
