Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon 2026

Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon 2026 returns to New Delhi for its second edition on 4 October, with the principal race-day programme based at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The event is organised by the Indian Air Force in memory of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC, and forms part of a much wider national running programme. AIMS lists the event as an associate member and records that the inaugural 2025 edition linked simultaneous races in 46 Indian cities and drew more than 39,000 participants nationwide.

The Delhi programme centres on a 21.1K half marathon, 10K and 5K. The half-marathon route runs through New Delhi's historic boulevards around India Gate, while the organiser describes the 10K as a flat, fast course on wide city avenues. Electronic timing, medical support and hydration points are provided, with hydration listed approximately every 2 km. The half marathon has a 3 hour 30 minute cut-off and the 10K a two-hour cut-off.

Race-day assembly opens at 04:30, followed by the 21.1K flag-off at 05:30 and 10K at 06:15. The organiser's detailed race-day schedule lists the 5K at 06:45, although its category card currently says 07:00, so runners should check the final 5K start before race morning. An Akashganga skydiving display is scheduled for 08:30, with the awards ceremony at 09:30.

Bib and kit collection is at Tejas Camp Football Ground, Chanakyapuri, on 1 October from 11:00 to 19:00 and 2 October from 10:00 to 18:00. Runners must bring their confirmation email and valid ID; Defence-category entrants need their original Defence ID. Baggage counters open inside Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium from 04:30 on race day. Registration for the Delhi edition closed on 15 September 2026.
