Event Detail
Kaltara Begimpor 2026 returns to Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan, on Sunday 1 November 2026 for its sixth edition. Under the theme The Next Miles, the running festival combines community sport with regional identity and cultural celebration. This year's event forms part of the 14th anniversary celebrations of North Kalimantan Province, with support from the provincial government and collaboration with the Yayasan Sahabat Begimpor Malom organising foundation.
Important 2026 venue update
The central event venue is now the courtyard of the North Kalimantan Governor's Office (halaman Kantor Gubernur Kaltara), Tanjung Selor. In a preparation meeting on 21 October 2026, the provincial secretary confirmed the move from Lapangan Agatis, the venue associated with earlier editions. Runners should therefore not rely on the 2025 Lapangan Agatis venue when arranging transport or meeting points. The organising committee has been coordinating the layout and traffic preparations around the new location.
Race categories and current entry status
The organiser's Racehub category tab confirms 3K, 5K and 10K, with nine entry divisions. All nine currently display “HABIS” (sold out), even though the page header still says registration is open. Do not assume that its generic “from IDR 180,000” headline represents an available ticket.
Advertised category prices are IDR 700,000 for the 3K family team (two adults and one child); IDR 265,000 for 5K Nasional, ASN or ASN Master, and IDR 200,000 for 5K Kids U-13; IDR 295,000 for 10K Nasional, Nasional Master or ASN, and IDR 250,000 for 10K Pelajar. These are displayed prices for sold-out allocations. ASN divisions are for PNS/PPPK, and the platform specifies age 45 or older on race day for the master divisions. The poster and guide describe the kids division as ages 7–13; confirm the exact birthday rule with the organiser.
Local start time and preparation
The current official guide linked from @kaltarabegimpor gives 05:00 WITA (UTC+8) on 1 November and explicitly names Kantor Gubernur Kalimantan Utara as start and finish. Racehub's 04:00 WIB display is the equivalent time in western Indonesia, not 04:00 local Tanjung Selor time. The guide's general-location line and older poster still mention Lapangan Agatis; the guide's explicit start/finish entry and the 21 October venue-update announcement identify the Governor's Office. Follow subsequent organiser race-week instructions for assembly and access.
The saved map pin is an approximate venue-area reference, not a surveyed starting arch. Consult the official guide and organiser announcements for category eligibility, collection instructions, final routes, cut-offs, compulsory preparation and prizes. A definitive registration closing date has not been independently verified; the live category allocations are sold out.
Current-edition evidence: Racehub event and category listing, official organiser, official race guide, 21 October venue and preparation announcement and governor's August 2026 confirmation.
