Event Detail
Jelajah Tamanmartani KulineRun 2026 offers a different way to discover Kalasan in Sleman, Yogyakarta: running through the countryside while celebrating the region's food, village culture and environment. Presented by the Tamanmartani village government together with its Karang Taruna youth organisation, the event brings runners and visitors to Lapangan Rakai Pikatan, in the Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) Prambanan area, for the running programme on Sunday, 25 October 2026.
Two running distances and a village-wide festival
The announced running distances are 6K and 10K, alongside a recreational walking option. Local organisers describe the shorter route as containing some elevation changes and the longer route as a more substantial challenge through viewpoints and the village landscape. Entrants should not assume either route is completely flat. The 6K distance is not currently supported in ARC's distance catalogue, so the structured category cards include only the verified 10K, with the shorter distance explained here rather than mislabelled as 5K.
The broader event runs over 24–25 October 2026. Saturday activities include a countryside cycling programme of approximately 20K, collection of running race packs and activities in the race village. Sunday is the scheduled running day. Organisers expect approximately 1,500 participants across the celebrations, with involvement from local small businesses, artists and community groups.
The living medal and local cuisine
A standout feature is the living medal initiative. Instead of the usual metal finisher medal, the organisers plan to give participants a plant or seedling to take home and nurture. The idea is to keep the event's environmental message alive well after race weekend. Organiser interviews also mention a running jersey and nasi berkat with chicken, drawing on the nearby area's famous Ayam Goreng Kalasan.
The cultural programme highlights traditional performances, local cooking, craft businesses and features of Tamanmartani's village heritage. Organisers have mentioned Ketek Ogleng dance, village facilities such as Lumbung Mataraman, and local storytelling through community arts.
Registration and race-day advice
The advertised registration costs are IDR 95,000 for 6K and IDR 135,000 for 10K, according to the contemporary race calendar, with ticketing through the event registration page. Prices, benefits and available places should be reconfirmed at checkout. A race schedule shows approximately 05:00 WIB on 25 October, but the specific category flag-offs, collection window and final route maps were not independently verified from the organiser's ticketing site. Participants should consult the official registration channel and organiser's Instagram before travelling.
