Event Detail

The 34th KIX Senshu International Marathon returns to the public roads of southern Osaka on 14 February 2027 after a four-year absence from its traditional road format. The event began in 1994, the same year Kansai International Airport opened, and has developed into a long-running regional race linking the cities and towns of the Senshu area. The 2027 programme has been reshaped around a 30K race and a half marathon, with a combined first-come-first-served field of 4,000 runners.

The two races use separate starts before converging on the coastal course. The 30K starts at 09:00 from Chiyoda 3-chome in Takaishi, while the half marathon starts at 10:00 near Kishiwada City Hall. Both finish at Osaka Prefectural Rinku Park in Izumisano. The route showcases the Osaka Bay side of Senshu and includes the bridges locally known as the "Monster Bridges", the Tajiri Sky Bridge and Sennan Marine Bridge, where runners can look across towards Kansai International Airport.

The 30K has a four-hour limit and the half marathon a three-hour limit. Five intermediate course-control points are published, with the final closure at 12:36. Six aid stations serve the 30K course, while half-marathon runners use the final four. Official pacers are planned for 2:00 and 2:30 in the 30K, and 1:30, 2:00 and 2:30 in the half marathon.

There is no previous-day check-in. The organiser says athlete bibs and the participant gift are sent in advance, allowing runners to arrive on race morning without visiting an expo. Baggage can be deposited at each start and is transported to the common finish at Rinku Park; only one supplied baggage bag, up to 65 cm by 50 cm, is accepted. There is no dedicated participant parking at the start or finish, so public transport is strongly recommended.

Registration runs from 1 October to 15 November 2026 through RUNNET, with a Run Japan route for overseas entrants. All participants receive an event T-shirt. Runners who finish within the time limit receive a finisher medal, Senshu towel and later access to a web finisher certificate. Overall and age-group awards are offered for both distances.
