NAGASAKI MUSICFES MARATHON 2027

NAGASAKI MUSICFES MARATHON 2027 is the inaugural edition of a major new road race in Isahaya and Unzen, produced with special cooperation from the Tokyo Marathon Foundation. The event combines full-marathon running with live music and is supported by Isahaya City, Unzen City and the Nagasaki Athletics Association. The official 2027 outline lists World Athletics and Japan Association of Athletics Federations course certification as planned.

The 42.195 km marathon starts and finishes at Transcosmos Stadium Nagasaki. The relatively flat route crosses the Isahaya Plain, passes local shopping streets and includes roughly 7 km on the Isahaya Bay Reclamation Dike Road. Organisers plan 14 music aid stations around the course, adding live performances to the water and food support.

The marathon starts at 09:00 and has a 6 hour 30 minute limit, with ten intermediate cut-off points before the 15:30 course close. A separate 5.1 km Fun Run starts at 09:20 and has a 50 minute limit. ARC does not currently expose an exact 5.1 km distance option, so that genuine race is documented here rather than being mapped inaccurately to 5K.

The main general marathon allocation reached capacity on 31 August 2026. Limited hometown-tax, tour and charity marathon places, plus the Fun Run, remain scheduled to accept entries until 16 October 2026 unless their quotas fill first.

Runner check-in is on Saturday 30 January from 09:00 to 20:00 at Isahaya City Central Gymnasium, also known as Uchimura Memorial Arena. There is no race-day packet collection. Entrants receive an original event towel, marathon finishers receive a medal, and web finisher certificates are issued. The marathon awards the top eight men and women overall plus the top three in published age groups.
