Event Detail
Cordillera Mountain Ultra 2026 is the trail-running centrepiece of the first Philippine Mountain Games weekend in Benguet and the 10th edition of an established Cordillera mountain race organised by the Cordillera Conservation Trust. The current programme brings together four main trail distances: 50K, 25K, 10K and 5K, with separate Canicross and Kiddie Run activities also listed by the organiser.
The 50K is the signature event. Current ultra-race records describe a mountain course around Mt Ugo with about 3,131 metres of climbing, topping out at roughly 2,150 metres. Runners traverse long pine-covered ridges and highland terrain with broad views across the Cordillera and towards the West Philippine Sea. Historical results have been recorded for the event since 2016, reinforcing its status as one of the Philippines' established mountain ultras.
Race day on Sunday starts before dawn. The 50K is scheduled for 03:30, followed by the 25K at 05:30, 10K at 06:30 and 5K at 07:30. The organiser publishes an intermediate cut-off at 15:30 for the 25K and 50K, with all races closing at the finish at 18:30. That gives the 50K a 15-hour race window.
This is a mountain event where self-sufficiency matters. Published mandatory equipment includes a working mobile phone, lighting, hydration capacity, a personal drinking cup, whistle and carried calories, with additional emergency-cash requirements for longer categories. The event is cupless at aid stations and the organiser may conduct random gear checks on course.
The venue is in the Banao area of Bokod, Benguet. Organiser guidance says it is around 45 minutes from Baguio's Pacdal Circle. Most access roads are paved, but the final kilometre to the venue includes a riverbed section, so drivers are advised that a vehicle with reasonable clearance is useful. Parking is available at the venue.
