Kibalabag Trail Ultra 2027

Kibalabag Trail Ultra 2027 takes place on 22–23 May 2027 at the Kibalabag Covered Courts in Barangay Kibalabag, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, Philippines. The second edition has become an Asia Trail Master Championship Qualifier, following its inaugural edition as an ATM Candidate Race. Associated with the Point Run Series, it focuses on demanding, technical highland trails rather than fast road racing.

Courses and challenge

Official registration confirms 70K, 42K, 25K, 13K and 7K distances. The headline 70K climbs approximately 6,000 metres, with a 24-hour time limit. The 42K climbs around 4,000 m, the 25K 2,500 m, the 13K 800 m and the 7K 400 m. Expect steep ascents, tough descents and densely forested mountain terrain around the Kibalabag River gorge.

Both 70K and 42K score Asia Trail Master Championship points; the 70K can also count toward the ATM Grandmaster Quest. The 70K is emphatically not an introductory ultra. Applicants require pre-screening and documented evidence of a recent 50K trail effort. Important: the official registration page currently quotes two different qualifying ascent thresholds: the overview says 4,000 m, while the detailed pre-screening section says 2,500 m. Confirm directly with the organiser which rule applies; do not assume that reserving a slot guarantees acceptance.

Registration and entitlements

Published entry fees are ₱4,700 for 70K; ₱3,500 for 42K; ₱2,500 for 25K; ₱1,700 for 13K; and ₱1,500 for 7K. The booking system also offers a separate ₱200 reservation option, which is non-refundable, is not subtracted from the entry fee and may have processing costs. Reservations close earlier for individual categories, including an especially early 70K pre-screening deadline. The booking page states overall registration closes on 1 May 2027 and specifies full-payment deadlines; entrants should check their own category before applying.

The organiser lists shirts, a finisher medal, personalised bib, timing, accident insurance, aid-station refreshments and a post-race meal; a separate finisher shirt is included in the longer 70K, 42K and 25K categories. Read each ticket's inclusions and event rules for any differences.

Venue, transport and safety

The confirmed venue is Barangay Kibalabag Covered Courts, in the uplands outside Malaybalay City. The organiser's 2027 flyer marks the area at approximately 8.2475° N, 125.1746° E. The Race Pace general event page lists a 15:00 local flag-off, but does not publish individual start times for every distance in the main overview. Check the distance briefing, latest course map, compulsory equipment, travel and race-pack collection instructions with the organisers before travelling. The trails' steepness and substantial climbing make appropriate preparation and conservative pacing essential.
