Lilingayon Ultra Trail Run makes its Asia Trail Master Candidate Race debut on Sunday, 7 February 2027, with a demanding mountain-running programme in the uplands of Valencia City, Bukidnon, on the Philippine island of Mindanao. Organised by Dagan Ta, with support from Bunal Running Club, this event explores a different part of the Valencia highlands from the established MUSPO race. The start and finish are announced for Lilingayon Barangay Hall.
Courses and terrain
The advertised distances are 55km, 42km, 21km and 10km. The headline 55km ultra includes more than 3,000 metres of climbing, crossing mountain trails and rainforest with less than 10% of the course on sealed roads. An early organiser route illustration published by Asia Trail Master shows approximately 59km of mapped trail and 3,030m ascent; that is a preliminary course illustration rather than a guarantee of the final measured distance. Competitors should rely on the latest course GPX and mandatory-gear instructions once issued by the organiser. The shorter distances provide trail options for runners who do not want to tackle the full mountain ultra.
Race-day programme
The 55km is provisionally scheduled to start at 2:00am Philippine time (UTC+8), with a 12-hour cut-off at 2:00pm. This means extended night running, a head torch and experience managing long steep sections will matter. Confirmed flag-off times and cut-offs for the 42km, 21km and 10km have not been supplied in the initial announcement. Expect changing mountain weather and potentially muddy rainforest tracks; organise your transport to the race hub before the overnight start.
Getting there and key confirmations
Valencia City is in Bukidnon, Northern Mindanao. Cagayan de Oro is a closer gateway than Davao City; onward ground transport is required to reach the Lilingayon area. The map pin represents the Lilingayon barangay area, not a surveyed starting-line coordinate. Check the final assembly point and travel arrangements with the organiser.
