Event Detail
Singlife Cagayan de Oro Marathon 2026 closes the eight-race Singlife Philippine Marathon Majors season in Northern Mindanao. Organised by RUNRIO and staged from SM City CDO Uptown on 13 December, the event offers 42.195K, 21.1K, 10K and 5K road races for runners ranging from first-time road racers to experienced marathoners. The Philippine Marathon Majors states that its courses are measured and certified to World Athletics and AIMS standards, with the series sanctioned by the Philippine athletics governing framework and included in the World Athletics World Rankings Competition.
Cagayan de Oro is promoted by the organisers as a sports-tourism destination as well as the final stop of the 2026 Majors season. The venue is in Uptown Carmen, with the event centred on SM City CDO Uptown. The current organiser and registration material has not yet published the final course map, exact start and finish points, category-by-category flag-off times or cut-off schedule. Race Roster currently lists the event time as 12:00 PM GMT+8, so ARC uses that published event time until the detailed race-day timetable is released. Once category flag-off times are issued, runners must begin within 15 minutes of their assigned start.
Entry is online and first-come, first-served. Minimum ages are 18 for the marathon and half marathon, 16 for the 10K and 13 for the 5K. Entries are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be deferred. Official timing is via the chip attached to the race bib; published race mechanics state that finishing times are recorded by the timing system while top placings are determined by gun time.
On course, organisers plan hydration roughly every 2 to 2.5 km with water and sports drink, with bananas for longer-distance runners, plus medical personnel and aid points along the route and at the start and finish. The race-kit collection venue, dates and hours are still to be announced through organiser email, SMS and social channels, so runners should watch for the final participant advisory rather than relying on an assumed expo schedule.
As the eighth and final Philippine Marathon Majors race of 2026, this event gives travelling runners a chance to combine a certified road race with a visit to Cagayan de Oro, the City of Golden Friendship, while local and international podium categories add a competitive layer across the programme.
