Event Detail
The Singapore 200 Miles Ultra 2027 is Running Guild's ninth edition of an exceptionally demanding 200-mile (approximately 322 km) self-navigated endurance challenge across Singapore. It starts and finishes outside the MacRitchie Reservoir Amenities Centre, and requires participants to manage their own route, food, hydration, rest and safety throughout the journey. This is a true self-supported challenge, not a conventional marshalled road race.
2027 programme and format
- Friday 30 April: Group photograph at 20:55 and race start at 21:00 Singapore time.
- Monday 3 May: Official 23:00 finish cut-off, giving a maximum of 74 hours including all rest stops.
- The organiser estimates approximately 5,000 metres of elevation gain, although it may amend the published route before race day.
- Official navigation reference: The organiser currently says the 2027 route follows the 2026 course and links to its MapMyRun route. Study this for self-navigation and water/food planning, but download or check the final route nearer the event because the organiser may amend it. This is a runner-navigation aid, not evidence of road closures or marshalled checkpoints.
- There are no organised checkpoints, aid stations, marshals, course distance markers, medical-aid provision or road closures. Runners must follow traffic rules and public-path restrictions. Personal support crews and pacers are permitted.
Important obligations and safety
Participants (or their support crew/pacer) must send race director Ben Swee their current location, distance covered and any problems every six hours, at 00:00, 06:00, 12:00 and 18:00 Singapore time, and must notify him immediately if withdrawing. The organiser permits extra updates at any time. Missing required reports may lead to time penalties or disqualification. Updates can be sent by the organiser's specified direct messaging methods (Facebook, WhatsApp or SMS). This is runner-submitted progress reporting, not automatic GPS tracking, physical aid checkpoints or a substitute for arranging independent emergency communications. See the official 2027 organiser instructions. If withdrawing, tell the organiser immediately. After finishing, runners must upload an accessible Strava/Garmin/Coros/Suunto or equivalent activity record so the organiser can verify that the published route was followed. Missing sections may attract a time penalty. Recommended self-support equipment: The official 2027 rules recommend carrying sufficient water or sports drink and food, a headlamp/torch, cash or coins for vending machines, an EZ-Link/transit or payment card, a mobile phone and power bank, the route map on a watch or phone, a whistle, and front/rear flashing safety lights. Plan drinking-water and medical access independently; the organiser provides neither aid stations nor medical coverage. These are the organiser's recommendations, not a confirmed compulsory-kit inspection list.
Elapsed-time timing and route proof
The organiser measures the official result by elapsed time from the start to the finish, including every break for sleep, food, water, transport-free recovery, toilets and other stops. The 74-hour limit does not pause during rest periods. After finishing, runners must upload their activity record (for example, Strava, Garmin, Coros or Suunto) and allow race director Ben Swee to inspect the recorded route. If using Strava, make the activity/profile accessible to the race director, as required by the organiser. Missing route sections may attract discretionary time penalties, although the organiser states it can consider unavoidable obstacles. These are current 2027 official organiser rules, not assumptions about a chip-timed race. Official 2027 rules.
