Event Detail

The 23rd Hangang Citizens Marathon brings Seoul's established riverside running event back to Yeouido Hangang Park on Saturday 5 December 2026. Runners can enter a half marathon, 10 km or 5 km event. Despite the word "marathon" in its name, the 2026 programme does not advertise a full 42.195 km race. The event is hosted by the Korea Sports For All Association and operated by its marathon association.

Along the Han River

The organiser places the start and finish near the Mulbit Stage (Floating Light Stage), in the park's Neoreundeulpan/Events Square, Yeongdeungpo-gu. The first runners are scheduled to start at 9:00 am Korean time. The course uses the Han River park's waterside running paths, combining river views with urban scenery. The published time limits are three hours for the half marathon, two hours for 10 km and one hour for 5 km. Follow marshals and final route markings rather than relying on older editions' maps.

Entry and race kit

The advertised entry fee is the same for all three distances. Race information lists a lightweight running vest, bib, timing chip, finisher medal, post-race snack and mobile results certificate. Organiser information indicates that pre-race items will be sent about a week before the event; check whether international addresses or late entrants require special arrangements. Entry is handled through the event website, not through this ARC listing.

Planning your visit

Yeouido Hangang Park is accessible from Yeouinaru Station on Seoul Subway Line 5. December can be cold by the river, so prepare suitable layers for waiting and warming up. Registration closing dates differ between third-party calendars, and the organiser's own website should determine whether entries remain available. Confirm your bib-delivery arrangements, precise gathering point, transport and any updated instructions before travelling.
