Event Detail
Daegu Marathon returns on Sunday, 28 February 2027 as one of South Korea's largest international road races. The event is an AIMS member, and recent editions have carried World Athletics Gold Label status. The 2027 race is a major reset for the event, moving the start and finish from Daegu Stadium into central Daegu at the Gukchaebosang Memorial Park and Daegu City Hall Dongin area, with a redesigned city-centre course intended to showcase more of Daegu and create better conditions for fast running.
The masters programme has three distances: the full marathon, 10K and a 5K Healthy Run. The announced capacity is 32,000 runners, split between 15,000 marathon places, 13,000 10K places and 4,000 Healthy Run places, with an additional elite marathon field managed separately. The overall race-day start is 08:00 KST. Published masters information lists course limits of six hours for the marathon, 1 hour 30 minutes for the 10K and one hour for the 5K.
For 2027, Daegu has shifted the race into the downtown road network, with Dalgubeol-daero forming a key part of the revised route. City announcements say the new layout is designed to connect historical, cultural and tourism landmarks while reducing the tougher late-course climbing seen on the previous stadium-based route. The organiser has also reduced the field from the previous 40,000-runner scale to improve safety and flow on the central-city course. Runners should check the final official course map before race week because detailed measurements and traffic-control information may still be updated.
Masters entry is first come, first served and is being opened in stages. Full-marathon applications are scheduled for 12-18 October 2026, with payment from 19-25 October. Applications for the 10K and 5K run from 26 October to 1 November, with payment from 2-8 November. Group registration follows from 16-19 November. The published fees are KRW 90,000 for the marathon, KRW 60,000 for the 10K and KRW 30,000 for the 5K. Race-pack collection details, participant entitlements and 2027 prize information had not yet been fully published at the time this listing was prepared, so runners should monitor the official website and Daegu Marathon social channels for those updates.
