Event Detail

The 4th Ren'ai Township Seediq Cherry Blossom Marathon returns to the mountain communities of Nantou County on Sunday, 14 February 2027. Organised by Ren'ai Township Office, the event is based at Chunyang Village's Fourth-Class Cherry Blossom Avenue on Provincial Highway 14 and combines a full marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K with a separate 5K category for local residents aged 60 and over. The setting gives the race a strong destination character, with the longer courses linking Seediq communities, hot-spring roads and steep mountain terrain during Taiwan's cherry-blossom season.

The 42K and 21K start at 06:30, followed by the 10K and both 5K categories at 06:45. Published limits are seven hours for the marathon, four hours for the half marathon, two hours for the 10K and 90 minutes for the 5K. The organiser specifically warns entrants to assess whether they are prepared for a high-intensity climbing race. The marathon leaves Chunyang on Highway 14, passes Yunlong Bridge and the Lushan Hot Spring area, then continues through Duda and towards Delugu before returning to the Chunyang event site. The half marathon turns back earlier after its Lushan-area section, while the 10K and 5K use progressively shorter out-and-back routes. All races finish back at the Chunyang venue.

Registration is online and the current registration provider lists the entry window from 10 July to 31 December 2026, subject to quotas filling earlier. Entry costs TWD 1,400 for 42K, TWD 1,200 for 21K, TWD 1,000 for 10K, TWD 900 for the general 5K and TWD 500 for the local 60+ 5K. The 42K, 21K and 10K also require a refundable TWD 100 timing-chip deposit. Published quotas are 400, 300, 200 and 100 for the first four categories respectively.

The event operates as a cup-free mountain race, so runners are instructed to bring their own drinking cup. Standard participant items include an event shirt, bib and pins, while the timed categories receive a timing chip. Finishers in the main 42K, 21K, 10K and 5K races receive a medal, highland vegetables and an electronic finisher certificate. The organiser substitutes a TWD 100 venue voucher for a meal because of the remote mountain setting. Detailed race-pack distribution and any 2027 prize schedule were not yet published in the current materials checked, so runners should review the final organiser instructions before travelling.
