Event Detail
National Geographic Run for Earth returns to Taipei on 14 March 2027 with a large multi-distance road-running programme built around environmental awareness and mass participation. National Geographic has staged the Run for Earth concept in Taiwan for many years, linking outdoor exercise with its broader Earth Day and sustainability messaging. The 2027 event is organised by Taiwan Walt Disney Company, with Creative Implementation Enterprise Co., Ltd. handling event operations.
The competitive 21K half marathon and 10K races start on Ketagalan Boulevard in front of the Presidential Office, before heading through central Taipei towards the Dajia Riverside Park event hub. The half marathon starts at 05:30 and has a 210-minute limit. A ranked 10K Challenge starts at 05:50, followed by a non-ranked but chip-timed 10K Jogging wave at 06:00; both have 100-minute limits. Later in the morning, 5K Leisure and Family waves start from Water Gate No. 8 at Dajia Riverside Park at 08:00 and 08:10, with 90 minutes allowed.
The programme is designed for a broad range of runners. The 21K field is capped at 6,000 across standard and upgraded entries, while the 10K categories collectively provide substantial additional capacity and the 5K offers both leisure and family participation. The competitive 21K and 10K categories use timing chips, while the 5K is non-timed.
Race-day logistics are unusually detailed. Clothing drop opens from 04:00 for 21K and 10K runners, with strict pre-start bag-drop deadlines. Domestic race materials are scheduled for courier delivery from 22 February to 5 March 2027; overseas runners collect from the event service desk before or on race day. Finishers within the published limits receive a medal and sports towel, with 21K and 10K runners also receiving a running cap and electronic result certificate. The main event hub at Dajia Riverside Park continues with award presentations, environmental programming and a post-race concert through 10:30.
