Sanxing Annong River Marathon Carnival 2026

The seventh Sanxing Annong River Marathon Carnival is scheduled for Sunday 6 December 2026 in Sanxing Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. Organised by Sanxing Township Office, the race programme combines a marathon, half marathon, 10K health run and 5K leisure run with countryside scenery and local hospitality. There are 3,500 places across the four categories. The county government reported more than 2,000 registrations in the first two weeks.

The start and finish are at Sanxing Township Sports Park. Races flag off between 06:30 and 06:50 local time. Cut-offs are six hours 30 minutes for the marathon, four hours for the half marathon, two hours 30 minutes for the 10K and one hour 30 minutes for the 5K. Routes use local roads and the Annong River cycleway, with advertised sights including the bald-cypress grove, Tiansongpi Railway Station, the Pobu Wu painted embankment and the diversion-weir park. Not every distance necessarily passes every landmark.

A runners' concert is planned at Annong Station on Saturday 5 December. The event celebrates Sanxing's local produce, with a one-kilogram pack of Sanxing rice, five local food gifts, finisher medal and electronic certificate advertised for every category. Technical shirts are included, while the longer races have additional gear bags, towels and meals. Race packs are due to be sent by courier approximately two weeks before race day.

Visually impaired runners have priority start arrangements, and eligible runners and their guides can enter without charge. The marathon minimum age is 16 and the half marathon minimum is 14. Children under 12 in shorter races must run with a registered adult; under-18s require parental consent.

Registration is scheduled to close at 23:59 on 11 October 2026, unless capacity is reached first. Runners travelling from outside Sanxing should plan early-morning transport and accommodation. Final parking, shuttle, prize and detailed course arrangements should be checked with the organiser.
