Road to Give Chiang Rai Thailand 2026

Road to Give Chiang Rai 2026 brings Marriott's annual charity running initiative to the banks of the Kok River on Saturday 28 November. Hosted by Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort, this relaxed 5 km evening event welcomes people who want to get active while contributing to organisations that serve children, families and local communities.

What to expect

The organiser advertises a 16:30 local-time evening run, with the route heading from the resort towards Fang Min Riverside Park. The riverside setting provides a change of pace from a city-centre road race, with views of Chiang Rai's Kok River corridor. The focus is participation and community rather than an elite racing programme. Allow time for arrival, check-in and any race-day briefing; detailed course-control arrangements, road closures and collection times should be confirmed directly with the organiser closer to the event.

Running for a cause

This is part of Marriott International's wider Road to Give 2026 series across Thailand. According to the local organiser's announcement, proceeds after event expenses benefit the Operation Smile Foundation, which supports children needing reconstructive surgery, and the Mirror Foundation, which provides community assistance. The Chiang Rai organisers have also promoted a special commemorative finisher medal. The series brings together hotel teams, residents, visitors and recreational runners around a shared charitable goal.

How to take part

The advertised in-person 5K entry is 420 Thai baht. A separate virtual participation option, also advertised at THB 420, allows supporters elsewhere to join the cause without attending Chiang Rai; the organiser says virtual participant items will begin dispatching on 30 November. Treat the virtual option as an alternative registration within the same fundraising campaign, not another on-site race distance.

The race hub is at Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort, on Kwaewai Road, a little north of the city centre. Check the official registration and organiser announcements for entry availability, start-area directions, shirt or medal collection, eligibility rules and any changes to timing or the route before travelling. The race information here reflects the current-edition announcement published in October 2026.
