Khơi Sóng Bình Minh returns to the coastal city of Vũng Tàu on Sunday 3 January 2027 as part of the city's New Year celebrations. The name means roughly "Awakening the Dawn Waves", reflecting the event's early-morning running programme and sunrise finish beside the sea. The 2027 edition adds a 21K half marathon to its existing 10K and 5K races, with organisers expecting around 2,000 to 3,000 participants.

The start and finish are at Tam Thắng Square in Vũng Tàu, now administratively part of Ho Chi Minh City. The courses follow the coastal roads, giving participants sea views before and after sunrise.
