Trang An Marathon 2026 - Ninh Binh, Vietnam

Trang An Marathon 2026 returns for its sixth edition on Sunday 15 November 2026 at Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, Tây Hoa Lư, Ninh Bình. Organised by VRace (Vu Media Joint Stock Company) with the Ninh Binh Department of Culture and Sports, the event offers four road-running distances within the UNESCO-listed cultural and natural scenery of the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.

Ancient-capital road courses

The 2026 organiser's distance pages identify Hoa Lu Ancient Capital as both start and finish for 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon. The courses pass Ninh Binh's limestone landscape and historic sites, with organiser highlights including King Le Dai Hanh Temple, Bai Dinh Pagoda and the Sao Khe riverside. The race starts around the Tam Quan Gate of the ancient capital, outside the modern city centre. All routes are marketed as predominantly flat and accessible roads; runners should refer to final 2026 course maps rather than maps from another year.

Starts and eligibility

The organiser’s 2026 regulations publish an expected schedule: 42K 04:30, 21K 05:45, 10K 06:15 and 5K 06:35, all in Vietnam time (ICT, UTC+7). The corresponding cut-offs are 6 hours 30 minutes, 3 hours 30 minutes, 2 hours 30 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes. This timetable is provisional; confirm the final race briefing. Confirm flag-off, reporting, mandatory equipment and road restrictions using the final official race guide. Minimum ages published by the organiser are 18 for 42K, 16 for 21K, 12 for 10K and 10 for 5K. Parents should check consent requirements for under-age entrants.

Entry, prices and registration

The official 2026 late-entry period is 11–30 October, subject to tickets remaining. The authorised 5BIB partner currently advertises late tickets as available. The current VAT-inclusive late-entry prices are VND 1,399,000 for the marathon, VND 1,099,000 for the half marathon, VND 899,000 for 10K and VND 799,000 for 5K. Earlier promotional rates have ended. The organiser directly lists 5BIB, iRace and ActiUp as its approved entry channels, and warns against buying race entries over unsolicited social messages. Previously advertised club-discount payment deadlines ended 1 October and should not be treated as live offers.

Official ticketing guidance provides generally non-refundable entry fees; paid bib transfers or distance changes, where allowed, must be completed by 28 October 2026 under the applicable platform policy. Check the authorised checkout and rules before buying because different platforms can display different additional services.

Race-pack collection and athlete services

The organiser-linked registration platform lists race-pack collection on Saturday 14 November from 08:00 until 21:00 Vietnam time at Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, Tây Hoa Lư Ward. Carry the confirmation and identification requested in the organiser's forthcoming instructions. Do not assume race-morning bib collection is available.

The race advertises a timing-chip bib, event bag, event T-shirt, course nutrition, finisher medal and results certificate. A 42K finisher shirt is a full-marathon-specific benefit, not a guaranteed reward for shorter-distance entrants. During the run, follow official hydration, medical, and cutoff instructions. November in Ninh Binh can be humid or rainy, so plan travel and footwear accordingly. Accommodation near the heritage site is often more convenient than central Ninh Binh for the early-morning start.
