Event Detail
Ultra Trail Hà Giang returns to northern Vietnam on 12–14 March 2027, with demanding mountain races across the Đồng Văn Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark. Race Jungle organises the event around Mèo Vạc, amid limestone ridges, steep village paths and dramatic views across the Nho Quế River and Tu Sản canyon. The 2027 programme introduces a 125 km ultra starting at Lũng Cú Flag Tower, close to Vietnam's northern frontier.
Routes and terrain
The organiser lists six options: 125 km ultra, 75 km, 55 km, 42 km, 25 km and 6 km SIXMIX. These are rugged mountain trail courses, not flat road races. The longer routes explore rocky cliffs and remote settlements above the river valley, with sections around the famous Mã Pì Lèng mountain pass. Runners should expect extensive climbing, exposed ridges, uneven limestone underfoot and cold conditions at altitude, particularly before sunrise. Follow the final course GPX and checkpoint instructions once released.
Cut-offs and qualification
Published course limits are 42 hours (125 km), 25 hours (75 km), 20 hours (55 km), 15 hours (42 km), 12 hours (25 km) and two hours (6 km). Race Jungle specifies an iTRA Performance Index of at least 3 for the 125 km and at least 2 for the 75, 55 and 42 km categories. The organiser promotes iTRA and UTMB Index recognition, with the 125 km mapped to UTMB's 100K index category. Check the exact eligibility and mandatory-equipment rules before entering.
Race weekend and logistics
Registration is advertised as open through the official Race Jungle race page. Its published price schedule has a second pricing period from 21 September 2026 through 4 February 2027, followed by regular pricing through 4 March 2027; entry may close earlier if a category fills. Organiser benefits include a chip-timed bib, finisher medal, staffed aid stations with water and food, medical and rescue cover, and event photography.
Bring a headlamp for night running, warm and windproof layers for mountain weather, and a reusable drinking cup for aid stations. Mèo Vạc is reached via a substantial mountain-road journey from Hà Nội; plan travel and accommodation well before race weekend.
