2026 Nexperia Shanghai Elite 10K Race

The 2026 Nexperia Shanghai Elite 10K Race returns to Putuo District on Sunday, 25 October as the 10-kilometre event in the Shanghai Marathon series. First held in 2016, the race was China's first city-named 10 km road race and has progressed to World Athletics Gold Label status. The current edition is capped at 5,000 runners, with the race starting at 07:00 local time.

The course is built around the Suzhou Creek waterfront and is designed for fast road racing. Runners start on Guangfu Road W., continue through Guangfu Road W., Zhenguang Road, Yunling Road E., Daduhe Road and Zhenbei Road, then finish on Yunling Road E. inside Half-Marathon Suhe Park 6A. Current organiser material describes the route as flat and well tested for personal-best attempts. The final 2026 start-zone access details should still be checked closer to race day because the current announcement identifies the start by road rather than a surveyed start-line pin.

Entry used a pre-registration and ballot process. Applications ran from 15:00 on 8 September until 17:00 on 11 September 2026, with lottery results released on 18 September. Successful applicants then had until noon on 22 September to complete payment. Registration is therefore closed for the general ballot.

The race also provides a pathway into another major Shanghai road event: the first 200 men and first 100 women are due to receive direct entry to the 2027 Shanghai Half Marathon. That competitive incentive, together with the Gold Label status and compact 10 km format, gives the event a distinctive place within Shanghai's road-running programme.

The event is operated within the Shanghai Marathon series by Shanghai Donghao Lansheng Sports Co., Ltd. Current official material has not yet published detailed 2026 race-pack collection times, final start-zone logistics or a complete prize schedule, so participants should recheck the Shanghai Marathon website and app for later race-week notices.
