Event Detail
The 2026 Zhanjiang Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 6 December, bringing a planned field of up to 12,000 runners to the coastal city of Zhanjiang in Guangdong province. The 21.0975 km road race starts at Zhanjiang Times Square on Haibin Avenue South, in Xiashan District, and finishes at Zhanjiang Sports Centre. Organisers list a 7:00 am flag-off and a 10:00 am finish deadline, both China Standard Time (UTC+8).
Coastal route and race-day logistics
The point-to-point course uses city roads around the waterfront, with sections on or near Haibin Avenue and the coastal Guanhai corridor before heading towards the sports centre. Runners should consult the organisers' final route map, road-closure notices and transport advice; the starting and finishing locations are different, so accommodation and return journeys need some planning. The event regulations describe electronic timing checks along the course and medical services, including first-aid points and mobile support. Participants should follow the official course markings and any instructions from marshals and medical staff.
Entry requirements and collection
Entry is restricted under the published rules to Chinese nationals, including eligible runners from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Applicants must be at least 18 years old under the event's stated age criteria and must provide the required recent distance-running results, including two qualifying performances of at least 10 km from the specified preceding period. The organisers also set health and fitness requirements for attempting the half marathon. Prospective entrants should read the Chinese-language competition rules carefully rather than assuming this is an unrestricted international entry.
Registration is handled through the official Zuicool event page, with applications closing at 6:00 pm on 28 October 2026 (China time). The organisers say places will be allocated by ballot if eligible demand exceeds capacity; successful applicants will be informed after the entry process, and unsuccessful paid applicants are to receive a refund under the published terms.
Race-number and kit collection is planned for 4–5 December, with identity checks and no collection by proxy under the stated rules. Organisers give race-morning assembly and baggage-drop windows, so participants should arrive well before the start. Final collection instructions, any updates to transport arrangements and race-day notices should be checked directly with the organiser before travel.
