China Coast Marathon & Half Marathon Hong Kong 2027

The China Coast Marathon & Half Marathon Hong Kong 2027 is organised by Athletic Veterans of Hong Kong (AVOHK) on Sunday 21 February 2027. First held in 1981, the race is one of Hong Kong's longstanding distance-running fixtures and was the city's first AIMS-certified marathon. Both the 42.2K marathon and 21.1K half marathon start at 7:30am from Pak Tam Chung Barrier in Sai Kung Country Park.

The rural course is markedly different from a flat city race. Marathon participants tackle approximately 433 m of ascent, while the half marathon course is approximately 227 m of ascent. Hilly country-park roads around the High Island Reservoir area reward controlled pacing, and the routes have sections exposed to the weather.

Race-day logistics

• Race headquarters: Po Leung Kuk Holiday Camp, close to the start; changing rooms, showers, canteen and bag-drop access are available.
• Pre-bookable early-morning shuttle buses serve Central, North Point, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon Tong, Sham Shui Po, Tsuen Wan, Tai Po, Sha Tin and Sai Kung.
• Water and first aid are provided around the course. Marathon runners also receive sports drink and bananas at some course stations.
• Participants must be 18 or older on race day. Race bibs may not be transferred, and fees are non-refundable.
• Competition includes overall, age-group and AVOHK veterans awards. The marathon also features in the Abbott World Marathon Majors Masters ranking programme.
