Event Detail
Global 6K for Water Hong Kong 2027 returns to West Kowloon Cultural District Art Park on Sunday 10 January, organised by World Vision Hong Kong to raise funds for clean-water, sanitation and hygiene projects in African communities. The global event highlights the approximately six kilometres that many children and women walk daily to fetch water.
The event is scheduled from 7:00am to 4:00pm Hong Kong time. The official race programme is:
- 6K Individual Competitive Run: first wave at 8:30am, four heats; participants 15+, male and female age-group podiums
- 6K Jerrycan Team Challenge: 10:00am, teams of four ages 15+, runners carry water containers; non-corporate team entry and a separate corporate sponsorship cup
- 3K Individual Fun Run and Family/Group Fun Run: from 11:15am, three heats; individuals 12+, family groups of 2–6 can include children aged 6+ with a registered adult
- 1K Individual and Family/Group Walk: from 12:15pm, two heats; group option welcomes ages 3+ with registered adult supervision for children
- 1K Dog Fun Walk: 12:45pm in two heats; one dog with an adult owner/guardian, dogs kept leashed
The festival also includes Paws for Water: Charity Dog Agility Competition, 11:00am–4:00pm, co-organised with the Hong Kong Kennel Club. It involves dog-handler pairs competing over six short obstacles, not a human race distance. Entry costs HK$600 per handler/dog pair or a special HK$900 combined package with the 1K dog walk. Dogs must meet organiser vaccination, licensing, health and handling rules. This agility side event is included in the description, not incorrectly added as a running-distance card.
Entry prices: 6K individual, 3K individual/group and 1K individual/group/dog walk are HK$330 per person, with the 6K non-corporate four-runner Jerrycan team HK$1,320 per team. Corporate Cup teams should enquire directly for their package; the organiser does not publish a standard corporate-team fee. All youth categories require appropriate guardian consent. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
The published organiser site lists 30 October 2026 as a registration deadline for the pet activities. Other race entries can sell out early; participants should check each category’s live booking status and not assume all categories share the same closing date.
Race-pack and event practicalities: race-pack collection details are to be emailed three to four weeks before the event. Bring the printed or digital collection email; a family member can collect on your behalf by presenting it. Standard runner packs contain a commemorative T-shirt, socks, bib and sponsor gifts, plus a finisher medal and electronic certificate for successful finishers. The organiser offers a complimentary baggage deposit on race day from 7:00am to 1:00pm, subject to final arrangements. Bring a reusable water bottle to reduce plastic waste.
The WestK Art Park is a broad waterfront area beside Victoria Harbour. The map pin indicates the Art Park vicinity, not a precisely confirmed starting arch. Follow organiser notices for the final entrance and assembly area. The public carnival is free to attend; participating in the races or pet competitions requires separate paid registration.
