Event Detail
The Wonders of Tai Mo Shan Charity Trail Race returns to Hong Kong on Saturday 13 February 2027 for its sixth edition. The event raises funds for local community services and combines mountain races with family-friendly distances around the highest peak in Hong Kong.
The 35 km Amazing Journey begins at Tai Lin Pai Road Playground in Kwai Hing at 08:00 for solo runners and 08:05 for teams of two. The route passes Shing Mun Reservoir, Needle Hill, Grassy Hill, Lead Mine Pass, Wilson Trail Section 7, Ng Tung Chai and Sze Fong Shan before reaching Tai Mo Shan Rotary Park. It involves about 2,288 metres of climbing and has a nine-hour limit. Standard entry costs HKD 630 for solo runners and HKD 1,200 for pairs, with early-bird rates of HKD 580 and HKD 1,160.
The 25 km Travel Journey follows a shorter mountain route from the same start, gaining about 1,704 metres. Men's solo runners begin at 08:10 and women's solo runners and pairs at 08:15. The limit is eight hours. Standard fees are HKD 530 solo and HKD 1,000 per pair, with early-bird rates of HKD 480 and HKD 960.
The 9 km Experience starts and finishes at Tai Mo Shan Rotary Park, following MacLehose Trail Section 8 and Tai Mo Shan Road. Solo runners begin at 13:00, visually impaired runners with guides at 13:30 and family pairs at 14:00. The 3 km family event begins at 14:30. Standard 9 km solo entry is HKD 430; 9 km family pairs pay HKD 700 and 3 km family pairs HKD 600.
Long-course entrants must carry a phone, whistle, bib, at least one litre of fluid, food, cash and an Octopus card. Aid stations are located at Shing Mun Reservoir and Lead Mine Pass, with another stop at Ng Tung Chai Road for 35 km runners. One bag may be transferred from the start to the finish. Runners must follow course markings and checkpoint closing times.
Race packs are collected at Gone Running in Wan Chai from 30 January to 2 February, 12:30 to 19:00. Early-bird rates end 30 November 2026; the final registration deadline is not confirmed. Weather or trail conditions may cause cancellation without refund. ARC lacks exact 35 km and 9 km distance IDs, so these official options are described here rather than mapped to incorrect distances.
