Armed Forces Flag Day Run Darjeeling 2026

Armed Forces Flag Day Run Darjeeling 2026 takes place in the Himalayan hill town of Darjeeling on Sunday, 29 November 2026, with an out-and-back running programme centred on Chowrasta, the town's historic Mall square. Organised by the local Sainik Board, it supports the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, which assists veterans, wounded personnel and bereaved service families. The organiser says participant entry fees go to the fund.

Course and race morning

Three race choices accommodate different running experience: a 10K run, a 5K run and a 3K run/walk. The updated registration page specifies a 7:00 am race start and 6:30 am reporting time, with activity expected to finish around 9:00 am. All events start and finish at Chowrasta. Darjeeling's hillside streets and elevation can feel considerably tougher than a flat-city race, so entrants should prepare for variable gradients and cool morning conditions. Final route, traffic control and hydration directions should be reconfirmed through the organiser before race morning.

Important rescheduling notice

The original 4 October 2026 edition was cancelled, and registrations for that date were refunded. The organiser has now announced 29 November 2026 and requires a fresh registration through the replacement event page. Do not rely on an entry or start time from the cancelled October listing. Registration for this edition is scheduled to close on 22 November or earlier if sold out.

All entrants are offered an event T-shirt, race bib and refreshments. The current registration page lists a finisher medal for the 10K and 5K; it does not list a medal as part of the 3K entry package. Race-kit collection arrangements are still to be announced. Prize awards are advertised separately for men's and women's categories in the 10K and 5K, with additional senior-citizen prizes to be detailed by the organiser.
