Event Detail
Kochi Spice Coast Marathon returns on 25 October 2026 as the 11th edition of Soles of Cochin Runner's Club's established destination road race in Kerala. The event is built around Kochi's historic spice-trading identity and combines pre-dawn endurance racing with a community-focused fun run. The organiser describes the route character as flat and fast, taking runners through heritage streets and along the Arabian coast, with backwater scenery and coastal sections forming a large part of the event's appeal.
The current 2026 organiser FAQ lists Marine Drive Ground as the start and finish. The Full Marathon is scheduled to start at 03:30, the Half Marathon at 04:30 and the 5K Fun Run at 06:30 local time. The full marathon has a 6 hour 30 minute limit plus intermediate checkpoint cut-offs, while the overall finish line closes at 10:00. The organiser does not publish separate cut-offs for the half marathon or fun run, but all race operations end with the common finish-line closure.
Course support is substantial for a destination race. Aid stations are planned at roughly 2 km intervals with water, electrolyte drink, oranges, bananas, biscuits and salt, and the full marathon course is supported by six medical stations. Walk-run strategies are permitted provided runners remain within the applicable limits. Bikes, skates and other mechanical assistance are prohibited. Headphones are permitted, while pets are not allowed except guide dogs arranged with the organiser in advance.
Registration remains scheduled to close on 10 October, subject to the organiser's entry process. Race packs must be collected the day before the race at the official expo; there is no race-day collection. Proxy collection is permitted with a copy of the runner's photo ID and an authorisation letter, subject to the organiser's limits.
One location discrepancy remains worth noting for travelling runners. The organiser's current 2026 FAQ identifies Marine Drive Ground as the start and finish, while an August launch report quoting the Kochi mayor named Maharaja's College Ground. ARC uses the current organiser FAQ as the primary source, but runners should recheck the final race bulletin before arranging race-morning transport.
