Sangli Marathon 2026 - Maharashtra, India

Sangli Marathon 2026 brings runners to Vishrambag in Sangli, Maharashtra, on Sunday, 27 December 2026. Organised by the Radhey Seva Foundation, the event combines a long-distance preparation run for runners building towards a major marathon or ultramarathon with competitive road races and accessible community distances. The race hub is advertised around Neminath Nagar Ground / Rajmati Ground in Vishrambag, with the precise assembly point and route map to be confirmed against the runner's final instructions.

Race categories and format

The headline 35 km Preparation Run is promoted for runners preparing for the Tata Mumbai Marathon and ultra-distance events. Its advertised entry fee is ₹1,400, excluding booking charges and applicable taxes. The other distances are the 21.1 km half marathon, 10 km, 5 km Great Sangli Run, and 3 km run, including open recreational and under-16 sections. Published registration fees are ₹1,300 for 21.1 km, ₹1,200 for 10 km, ₹900 for 5 km and ₹700 for 3 km, before any additional charges. The exact 35 km distance is not an ARC distance option, so it is properly recorded here rather than substituted with the shorter 30 km category.

Race morning and runner information

The organiser's registration listing gives a 04:00 IST event start/gathering time on 27 December. Separate confirmed flag-off times for each individual race have not yet been published clearly, so runners should follow the organiser's final timetable rather than assuming every distance starts at 04:00. Course hydration, runner snacks and medical assistance are advertised. Participants should check race-day weather and leave sufficient time for access to Vishrambag and their assigned assembly area.

Race-pack collection is advertised for Saturday 26 December 2026 from 10:00 to 17:00 IST in the Vishrambag area. Check the final organiser confirmation for the exact desk or school-ground location, since published event pages describe the venue differently. Registration is advertised until 10 November 2026, subject to available places and organiser amendments.

Competition and prizes

The organiser's current-edition published awards chart lists cash prizes for the 21.1K and 10K open men's and women's races, plus a separate under-16 3K boys' and girls' competition. The first-place awards shown are ₹12,000 in the half marathon, ₹10,000 in the 10K and ₹5,000 in the under-16 3K, with lower places also recognised. Cash awards are subject to a minimum of 15 entrants in the relevant division; where a division falls below the qualifying number, trophies may replace the listed cash awards. Do not assume the 35K preparation run, untimed family 3K or 5K have cash prizes. Participants should consult the current organiser rules for age criteria, eligibility and prize conditions.

The event information above is drawn from the 2026 organiser and current-edition registration materials; runners should confirm any schedule, venue or fee changes with the foundation before travelling.
