Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2026

Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2026 is the 21st edition of one of India’s most established international road races. The event is a World Athletics Gold Label Road Race and the half-marathon course is AIMS-certified, with a separate elite field alongside mass-participation racing. Race day is centred on Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, where the half marathon starts and finishes; the Open 10K starts from Sansad Marg and finishes at the stadium.

The half marathon is designed as a serious timed road race rather than an open-entry fun run. Entry normally requires a recent qualifying performance from an accepted certified road race, and runners are placed into start waves according to the timing certificate supplied. The current published rules recognise qualifying performances from 10K, half marathon, 25K and marathon races conducted from 1 October 2024 onwards. Timing results for the half marathon are issued only to runners who finish within 3 hours 30 minutes, while the Open 10K timing limit is 1 hour 30 minutes.

The wider programme also includes the non-timed Great Delhi Run, Senior Citizens’ Run and Champions with Disability categories, plus virtual options. Those shorter on-ground categories are not mapped to ARC distance fields here because their published distances are approximately 5.3K and 2.5K, which do not have exact matches in the current ARC distance registry.

Bib collection takes place at the official event expo from 15 to 17 October 2026 and participants must choose a collection slot. Half Marathon and Open 10K entrants are generally required to collect their own bibs. Confirmed runners can also collect a complimentary Delhi Metro QR travel band for race-day return travel. A limited baggage-tag service is available for timed runners with a refundable security deposit.

The event is promoted by Procam International and combines elite competition, age-group racing, community participation and a significant charity programme. The 2026 elite prize structure pays equal overall prize money to men and women, while separate Indian elite awards, record bonuses and amateur age-group prizes are also offered.
