Maybank Indonesia is once again organizing the Maybank Marathon from August 22 to 24, 2025, at the Bali United Training Center in Gianyar, Bali. This annual running event will feature three main race categories: the Marathon with a distance of 42.195 kilometers, the Half Marathon covering 21.1 kilometers, and the 10K category. Race pack collection for participants will take place on August 22 and 23, 2025, at the same location.
The Maybank Marathon was first held in 2012 in Bali and has now reached a decade of successful events. Previously known as the Bali Marathon, it has become one of the main attractions in sports tourism. In addition to being a competitive race for runners, the event also offers participants and their families the opportunity to enjoy a vacation in Bali.
The uniqueness of the Maybank Marathon lies in its combination of world-class athletics with the rich cultural heritage of Bali, stunning natural scenery, and the warmth of the local community. Since its inception, the Maybank Marathon has been the first marathon in Indonesia to be consistently listed in the official race directory of the Boston Marathon. In 2020, it became the first and only marathon in Indonesia to receive the prestigious Elite Label from World Athletics. Additionally, the Maybank Marathon remains the only marathon event in Indonesia included in the official World Athletics calendar.
Over the years, the Maybank Marathon has earned numerous prestigious awards. One of its most notable recognitions is being listed among the “Remarkable Races in the World That One Must Participate Before You Die” by The Active. It was also recognized as one of “The 52 Best Races on Earth 2016” by Runnersworld and received accolades such as Best Marathon 2016 and The Most Popular Sport Event 2018 from The Venue magazine. With its outstanding track record, the Maybank Marathon continues to be a highly anticipated running event for athletes from around the world.
