Event Detail

The 32nd Teganuma Eco Marathon is an established autumn road race around Lake Teganuma in Japan's Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo. Jointly supported by Kashiwa and Abiko cities, the event starts at 10:00 am JST on Sunday 25 October 2026, with its race village at Kashiwa Furusato Park. The 2026 programme comprises a Japan Association of Athletics Federations-certified 21.0975 km half marathon and a five-mile race (approximately 8 km), together allowing up to 8,500 entrants outside invited athletes. The shorter distance does not have an exact ARC distance-filter option, but is part of the same real-world event.

Course and competition

The longer route circles the Lake Teganuma area, while the five-mile division covers a shorter portion of the lakeside setting. Half-marathon entrants must be at least 18 years old and capable of finishing in two hours and 30 minutes; the shorter race is open to high-school students and adults who can complete the distance within an hour. Half-marathon checkpoints close at 9.4 km at 11:20 am and 17.4 km at 12:30 pm. The overall finish closes at 1:15 pm, and additional intermediate checkpoints may require slower runners to board collection transport.

A separate team category adds an interesting competitive element: three to six runners register together, and their three fastest average net times determine the team ranking. Individual competitions also recognise overall and age-group performances. The organiser plans participant T-shirts and a commemorative post-race towel, although both are identified as planned rather than guaranteed.

Entry and race-day planning

Registration closed on 21 June 2026 after separate local-priority and general-entry windows. Entry was through RUNNET, with the half marathon priced at JPY 7,000 and general five-mile places at JPY 5,000; a separate high-school five-mile fee was JPY 3,000. Participants should confirm bib and starting-block arrangements from the issued organiser instructions.

Kashiwa Furusato Park is accessible by local bus from Kashiwa Station, with the nearest stop a short walk from the venue. The park has limited paid parking, so runners should check official transport updates rather than assume that driving to the start is practical. The event is planned to proceed in rain, subject to safety conditions and organiser announcements.
