Event Detail
The 4th Saiki Full Marathon returns to southern Oita Prefecture on Sunday, 15 November 2026, bringing a full marathon, half marathon, shorter road races and family-friendly participation to Saiki City on Kyushu. The start and finish are at the Saiki City Indoor Sports Arena within Saiki City General Sports Park, beside the Saiki-Katada interchange. The organiser has set a combined participation capacity of 2,000.
Course and race-day atmosphere
The road course heads through the countryside around Katata and along the scenic Saiki–Kamae road. Most of the course is comparatively flat; full-marathon runners encounter a short climb around 3 km and pass through two tunnels. The organiser provides water and food stations at approximately 4 km intervals. The full marathon has a six-hour limit, with a compulsory checkpoint at approximately 32 km at 1:30 pm; the half-marathon limit is two hours 50 minutes.
Confirmed flag-off times (Japan Standard Time)
The organiser has revised the 10K and shorter-race start times following a 10K course change:
- 9:00 am: full marathon (42.195 km)
- 9:10 am: half marathon (21.0975 km) and 10K
- 9:20 am: 5K and walking division
- 9:25 am: 1K
Follow the latest organiser instructions rather than the older times printed in some original race documents. The event proceeds in rain.
Getting there and taking part
A free temporary shuttle is scheduled from JR Saiki Station at 7:45 am and 8:20 am. Return departures from the sports park are 12:10 pm, 12:50 pm, 2:40 pm and 3:20 pm. The organiser also lists on-site bag storage at ¥300, so do not treat baggage drop as an included service. There is no race-day registration desk: bibs, disposable timing tags and participant items are mailed in advance. Wear the timing tag correctly to receive a recorded time and finish certificate.
Former Aoyama Gakuin University runner Hiroki Wakabayashi is the special guest, with a pre-race talk scheduled for 8:20–8:36 am and a photo opportunity 11:00–11:30 am.
Entries closed on 15 September 2026. This is an event-information listing for runners already entered; consult the official race page for last-minute course notices and the organiser's entry rules for eligibility and participation conditions.
