Ultra Trail Zamboanga 2026

Ultra Trail Zamboanga 2026 is an inaugural mountain trail event in Zamboanga City, Mindanao, taking place on Sunday 25 October 2026. It has been recognised as an Asia Trail Master Candidate Race and is promoted by the Zamboanga Trail Runners community. The new race introduces visiting runners to the local ridges and trails used by accomplished local trail athlete Kik Suello, with a programme intended for experienced ultrarunners as well as entrants taking on shorter routes.

The route

The principal 75K trail race starts at 03:00 Philippine time from Freedom Park (Girl Scout area), Pasonanca, Zamboanga City. The pre-dawn start means the leaders will begin climbing in darkness before sunrise reveals the city's surrounding valleys and hills. Organiser-supplied course artwork identifies roughly 76.17 km and 4,625 m of elevation gain on the headline course. Some third-party GPX services show a different measured length and ascent, so runners should follow the organiser's final route briefing and mandatory-equipment instructions rather than treating any unofficial GPS statistic as definitive.

Additional 42K, 21K and 10K categories are advertised on the event's genuine 2026 promotional banner. Separate start times, official course cut-offs and final technical requirements for those distances were not independently verified when this listing was prepared. Trail conditions are expected to include climbs, descents and exposed ridgelines, so participants should carry appropriate water and lighting for their start time and check event-day weather and course directions.

Race arrangements

The organiser has published a PHP 3,500 registration fee for the 75K category. Its 75K entitlement artwork lists a four-inch brass finisher medal, race shirt, singlet, limited-edition keychain, patch, insurance, race bib and other freebies. Fees and entitlements for the shorter distances should be confirmed directly with the organiser, and no registration deadline or ticket availability is asserted here without verification.

The race is separate from the Gold Rush Trail Ultra in Sibutad, Zamboanga del Norte, which is scheduled for January 2027. The two events have different organisers and locations despite both appearing in Asia Trail Master coverage.
