Event Detail

Nagoya City Marathon 2027 is Nagoya's major mixed-gender road-race programme on Sunday, 14 March 2027. It is held alongside, but is officially separate from, the Nagoya Women's Marathon: the City Marathon has its own event name, entry system, mixed-gender fields and finish venues, and the rules explicitly prohibit entering both events. Nagoya City, the Nagoya-city Education and Sports Association and The Chunichi Shimbun organise the event, with Aichi Prefecture as co-organiser and the Japan Association of Athletics Federations supporting it.

The headline Half Marathon covers 21.0975 km from Vantelin Dome Nagoya to Shirakawa Park. The course is certified by JAAF and WA/AIMS and has a three-hour time limit from the starting gun. The official map sends runners south from the dome towards Mizuho, turns near Horita, then brings the field back through central Nagoya before the Shirakawa Park finish. The published elevation profile shows only modest rolling changes rather than a steep course.

The same programme also includes the mixed-gender Nagoya RUN, an 8.5 km point-to-point race from Vantelin Dome to Paloma Mizuho Stadium with a 90-minute limit. ARC does not currently expose an exact 8.5K distance option, so this genuine category is documented here rather than being mis-mapped to 10K.

The event is substantial, with published capacity of 10,000 Half Marathon runners and 3,000 Nagoya RUN participants across general, charity and overseas allocations. Overseas Half Marathon entry closed on 23 September 2026, while overseas Nagoya RUN entry remains scheduled through 25 December, subject to capacity. Japan-resident general entry is scheduled for 20-26 October on a first-come basis.

Race-number collection is at Vantelin Dome on 12-13 March, with no race-day collection. Overall awards recognise the top eight men and women in both races, with additional ten-year age-group awards. Runners are encouraged to use public transport because the organiser provides no event parking at the dome.
