Bukit Lagong Challenge 2027

Bukit Lagong Challenge returns for its fourth edition on 27–28 March 2027 at Taman Rimba Bukit Lagong in Selayang, Selangor. The event is staged in the Bukit Lagong forest reserve, a green pocket on the edge of the Klang Valley known for its network of trails, tropical vegetation and varied forest terrain. The 2027 programme offers 60K, 36K and 12K categories, giving experienced ultra runners and shorter-distance trail runners distinct ways to take on the reserve.

The published 12K course alone carries about 810 metres of elevation gain, indicating a notably hilly challenge for its distance. The organiser requires runners to stay on the marked course and warns that roads used by the event may remain open to vehicles unless specifically stated otherwise. Participants should therefore expect a trail event where self-management and awareness are important rather than a fully closed urban race environment.

Safety requirements include a hydration bag or belt with 500–1500 ml capacity and a working mobile phone. A headlamp with spare battery is compulsory during low visibility and from 19:00 to 07:00. The organiser may conduct random mandatory-gear checks, and incomplete mandatory equipment can prevent a runner from continuing. Medical stations are planned along the route and at the race site, while participants receive event insurance coverage.

A bag-deposit service is available at the start/finish site, with runners using their own bags. Race-pack collection permits both self-collection and authorised collection on behalf of another runner, subject to the organiser's identification and authorisation requirements. Participants must be at least 18 years old. The event runs from Saturday afternoon into Sunday, making the longer categories an overnight forest-running challenge.
