Event Detail

The MBPJ Bukit Gasing Trail Challenge 2026 takes runners into the green spaces of Petaling Jaya on Sunday, 25 October 2026. Organised by All Trail Project with the support of Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ), the race starts and finishes at Taman Jaya Park, rather than at a remote trailhead. It gives runners an accessible opportunity to experience trail racing close to Kuala Lumpur while tackling the Bukit Gasing area's hills and natural terrain.

Course and race format

There is one announced race distance: an approximately 10 km trail challenge, with an estimated 300 metres of elevation gain. The organisers specify a 7:30 am flag-off and an 11:00 am finish cut-off, allowing three hours and 30 minutes. This is a timed race rather than a leisurely walk, and the climbing makes it more demanding than a flat road 10K. A final course elevation profile and GPX file were still marked as forthcoming in the available organiser registration material; the exact trail alignment should be checked against any later race briefing.

The competition includes men's and women's Open (18–39), Senior (40–49) and Veteran (50 and above) divisions. Ages are calculated as at 31 December 2026. Cash prizes and trophies are advertised for the top three finishers in each division. Finisher medals are reserved for participants who complete the prescribed course within the cut-off.

Registration, support and rules

Entries closed on 30 September 2026. The published normal and late registration fees, shown separately in the race-category details, are historic entry tiers rather than tickets currently on sale. The organiser's published policy allows transfers through an approved process subject to conditions and a RM30 transfer fee; runners should contact the organiser directly rather than assume an entry can still be purchased.

Runners must wear their bib visibly on the front of their clothing, follow checkpoints and course markings, and complete the race on foot without pacers or outside assistance. Shortcutting and littering are grounds for disqualification. Medical personnel, an ambulance and short-period group personal accident insurance are part of the stated safety arrangements.

A baggage-drop facility is planned at the start area. Entrants must label and secure their own bag and deposit it at least one hour before flag-off; belongings must be collected before noon. The precise race-pack collection date, location and final course maps were not established from the available published material.

Getting there

Taman Jaya Park is near Taman Jaya LRT station, Amcorp Mall and central Petaling Jaya. Arriving early is particularly important because of the bag-drop deadline, pre-race checks and any event-day road or park access restrictions. Trail shoes with dependable grip, hydration and preparation for humid tropical conditions are sensible choices; runners should follow the organiser's final equipment and weather guidance.
