Event Detail

Bukit Payong Run Festival 2026, also known as BP26, brings runners of different ages together at Dataran Bukit Payong in Marang, Terengganu, on Saturday 12 December. Billed as ‘Run. Explore. BP26’ and a ‘Road to TM27’ event, it offers a community-focused build-up to the larger Terengganu Marathon 2027. The festival is organised by the Pusat Khidmat Masyarakat DUN Bukit Payong with technical support from the Terengganu Marathon running team.

Race-day programme

The adult 10K starts at 6:30am and is open to participants aged 18 and over. It has men's and women's Open, Veteran 40+ and Terengganu-resident divisions, with a two-hour cut-off at 8:30am. The competitive youth races follow at 6:35am (8K, ages 16–18), 6:40am (6K, ages 13–15) and 6:45am (4K, ages 8–12). Their respective finish deadlines are 8:35am, 8:10am and 7:45am. The 5K Fun Run starts at 7:30am, welcomes all ages and has no official cut-off. All races begin at Dataran Bukit Payong. Organisers ask participants to arrive from 6:00am for the opening prayer, safety briefing and warm-up.

Database note: ARC's distance selectors currently support the 10K and 5K exactly. The organiser's additional 8K, 6K and 4K youth races are genuine parts of BP26, described above, but cannot be selected accurately in the structured distance list. They should not be mistaken for absent races.

Entry and race-day arrangements

Registration has several pricing windows: Super Early Bird (15–18 October), Early Bird (19–24 October), Regular (25 October–24 November) and Late Entry (25–28 November). The organiser offers optional home delivery of race kits for an additional postage fee. In-person race-pack collection is at Dataran Bukit Payong on Friday 11 December, 10:00am–6:00pm. Entrants should check their chosen category, age eligibility and shirt size carefully; the organiser advertises both standard and Muslimah shirt cuts and does not permit changes after kits are prepared.

The competitive categories use timing chips, with cash prizes for the first five finishers and placing medals through tenth. There is also a lucky draw open to every participant, including fun runners, with the organiser advertising RM14,000 in total prizes and a RM10,000 top draw. The Terengganu-only 10K division requires relevant local identity documentation at race-pack collection. Refer to the official event regulations for full prize tables, category rules, fees and any updates before travelling.
