GSC Popcorn Run 2026

GSC Popcorn Run returns in 2026 as the latest edition of Golden Screen Cinemas' established movie-themed running series, which first appeared in 2017. The 2026 race moves to Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang and is themed around Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday, combining a family-friendly 5K with timed 10K and half-marathon racing. GSC's own event history shows the series has grown well beyond a small cinema promotion, with the 2024 edition recording 10,000 participants.

The programme offers a non-competitive 5K Fun Run, a timed 10K Competitive race and a timed 21K Half Marathon. Current organiser FAQs set minimum ages at 5 for the 5K, 15 for the 10K and 16 for the half marathon; children aged 12 and under in the 5K must be registered and accompanied on course by a registered adult. Published cut-off times are 1 hour 45 minutes for 5K, 2 hours 30 minutes for 10K and 4 hours for 21K. Race Roster currently lists the event from 5:00am MYT, but separate category flag-off times have not yet been published in the accessible current material, so ARC does not infer them.

The 10K and 21K use timing chips integrated into the bib, while the 5K is untimed. On race morning, runners will have access to complimentary baggage drop on a first-come, first-served basis, hydration stations on the course and at the finish, and medical teams, ambulances and first-aid stations. Costumes are encouraged as part of the movie theme, but realistic weapons, vision-obstructing masks and unsafe costumes are prohibited.

Current official information does not yet publish final route maps, course elevation or detailed prize information. Those details have therefore been left open rather than carried forward from previous editions.
