Kota Kinabalu Marathon 2027 Powered By JomRun®

Kota Kinabalu Marathon 2027 Powered By JomRun® is a new four-distance road-running event in Sabah, staged from Tapak Dataran Kompleks Sukan Likas on Sunday, 17 January 2027. JomRun is promoting this as the first edition under the Kota Kinabalu Marathon identity, adding a full 42.2 km marathon to a local programme that has previously included its Kota Kinabalu City Half Marathon events at the same Likas sports precinct.

The 2027 programme offers 5 km, 10 km, 21.1 km half marathon and 42.2 km full marathon options. The 10 km, half marathon and marathon are promoted as competitive races, while the 5 km provides the shorter entry point. JomRun's dedicated event page currently lists the overall event time as 12:15 am MYT. Separate category flag-off times and course cut-offs are not yet available in crawlable current-edition text, so runners should check the organiser's final race facts before race week.

Registration is open through JomRun and is scheduled to close at 11:59 pm MYT on 16 January 2027. The organiser has published current-edition jersey, medal, bib, certificate, cash-prize and race-facts artwork, and advertises cash prizes for top finishers. Timed categories use TrackAsia RFID timing chips, while the half-marathon and marathon packages also include a finisher jersey.

Several practical details remain pending. Race pack collection date, time and venue are all still marked to be confirmed on the official event page, and the 2027 route map has not yet been released. The Likas venue is an established Kota Kinabalu sports precinct, but runners should rely on the organiser's final route, itinerary and collection notices once they are published.
