Event Detail
Melaka Ultra 2026, also promoted as MATRA 2026, marks the return of this established Malaysian endurance event after a hiatus. The comeback edition is based at Pantai Tanjung Bidara in Alor Gajah, Melaka, with a field capped at 1,000 runners and a five-distance programme ranging from a 5K fun run to the 100K headline ultra.
The current edition is a road event using an out-and-back format. Runners head away from the coastal race village to their designated turnaround point and return to Pantai Tanjung Bidara. The 100K starts on Saturday morning and has a 25-hour limit, while the 50K begins late Saturday night. The 30K, 10K and 5K start on Sunday morning. Published cut-offs are 25 hours for 100K, 12 hours for 50K, 8 hours for 30K, 3 hours for 10K and 2 hours for 5K. Entry to the 100K and 50K requires evidence of at least one completed full marathon.
The event is semi self-sufficient. Mandatory safety equipment applies to the 30K, 50K and 100K, including hydration capacity, emergency blankets, a headlamp, phone, nutrition, collapsible cup and bowl, GPX access, blinkers and a reflective vest. The 10K and 5K also have minimum hydration and phone requirements. Water stations are planned by distance, and the race follows a bring-your-own-bottle/cup policy with no disposable cups at aid stations.
Timing is provided for the event, and the organiser says the final route profile and map will be released closer to race day. Race kit collection takes place at the event site on Saturday before the first start, with a paid race-day collection option for runners who cannot attend the scheduled collection window. The event is organised by TEAM PACAT in collaboration with Majlis Perbandaran Alor Gajah, with support from Tourism Malaysia and Tourism Melaka.
