Event Detail
Energy SolaRun 2026 takes place at Likas Sports Complex in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on Sunday, 22 November 2026. Organised by the Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS), the event mixes fitness, community participation and awareness of solar energy. ECoS invites participants to run, walk and learn how solar technology can support homes, businesses and Sabah's transition towards more sustainable energy.
Choose between 5K and 10K
Runners can enter either the 5 km or 10 km category. The meeting venue is listed as the volleyball court at Likas Sports Complex, part of the major sports precinct north of central Kota Kinabalu.
A specialist race-photography calendar lists the event at 5:00 am Malaysia time. However, an exact flag-off time for either distance has not yet been verified. The 5:00 am listing might describe the overall programme or participant arrival, so runners should check the organiser's final instructions before setting off for the start.
Likas has stadiums, training facilities and outdoor courts, but the organiser's accessible registration description does not establish a precise course map, elevation profile, traffic-closure schedule or the location of the race's timing gantry. The accompanying map pin therefore indicates the Likas sporting precinct, not a confirmed starting arch. Follow official signs and marshals on the day.
Entry fees
Early-bird registration ran until 31 August 2026 at RM55 for 5 km and RM70 for 10 km. The normal published rates are RM70 for 5 km and RM90 for 10 km. The event-management partner also advertises a possible group discount for groups of ten or more, subject to its own booking conditions and any platform charges.
Registration is handled through Ticket2U. Entry availability and the last booking date should be confirmed on the ticketing page because a reliable deadline or current sold-out status could not be independently established. The expired early-bird figures are included for reference, not as an available offer.
Solar awareness and race preparation
The event is promoted under the theme “Ready. Set. SolaRun!”, connecting healthy activity with Sabah's clean-energy plans. It is a community event rather than a certified championship whose measured route and podium rules have been published in the information reviewed.
Sabah's tropical climate can be hot, humid and wet. Wear comfortable running footwear, bring water as necessary and allow time for parking or assembly at the complex. Check with ECoS for any age restrictions, children’s supervision, race-pack collection dates, participant gifts, medals, prizes, distance-specific flag-offs and final cut-off times. These details have deliberately not been inferred from unrelated Kota Kinabalu events.
The event's genuine organiser graphics are attached to this listing for additional reference, and the latest ECoS announcements should take precedence if its race-day plans change.
