Tuba Ocean Run 2027

Tuba Ocean Run 2027 takes runners away from mainland Langkawi for a distinctive island race on Pulau Tuba on 8 May. Organiser Lumen Sports describes the event as approximately 90% road and 10% trail, with 30K, 18K and 8K options through a quiet, hilly island landscape shaped by fishing villages, forest and coastline. Pulau Tuba lies about five kilometres from Kuah and is reached by boat, making transport planning an important part of race morning.

The published courses become progressively more demanding. The 30K has about 500 metres of elevation gain and a six-hour time limit, while the 18K has about 350 metres of climbing with a four-hour limit. The 8K course has about 80 metres of elevation gain and a two-hour limit. The organiser's current event page says category flag-off times remain unchanged; the published schedule shows the 30K starting at 07:15, followed by the 18K at 07:30 and 8K at 07:45.

All registered participants are entitled to return boat transport between Pekan Rabu Jetty in Kuah and Pulau Tuba. Runners must report to Jeti Pelancongan Pekan Rabu by 05:00 on race morning, with the participant speedboat scheduled to leave at 05:15. Race-pack collection is available at Pekan Rabu Jetty on 7 May from 10:00 to 18:00, with an additional race-day collection window at Tuba Island Jetty from 06:30 to 07:30.

Participants must be at least 18 years old. Mandatory equipment includes 500ml to 1000ml of carried hydration and a working, reachable mobile phone. The organiser provides medical stations and event insurance, permits one bag deposit at the Tuba Island event site, and states that roads are not necessarily closed to traffic. Runners must remain on the marked course, meet checkpoint and finish cut-offs, and avoid unauthorised pacing or outside aid.

The organiser has not yet published final 2027 fees, medals, shirts or other finisher entitlements, so those details have deliberately been left open rather than copied from an earlier edition.
