Ultra Jerai Geopark Trail 2026

Ultra Jerai Geopark Trail 2026 returns for its third edition on 21 November, taking runners into the nationally recognised Jerai Geopark around Yan and Gunung Jerai in Kedah. By late September the organiser reported more than 750 entries, including around 50 international runners from Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore and the Philippines, with participation expected to approach 1,000. Current official event artwork also carries UTMB Index and ITRA National League 2026 branding.

The event offers four trail distances: 50K Ultra Trail, 25K Enduro Trail, 10K Urban Trail and a 5K Fun Trail. The route programme starts from the Sungai Teroi / Rimba Rekreasi Lubuk Kawah area and links a series of distinctive Jerai Geopark locations. Published course material highlights mountain climbing, jungle trail, rivers, technical sections, traditional villages and paddy-field scenery, with longer routes visiting or passing landmarks including the Gunung Jerai summit area, Taman Eko Rimba Sungai Teroi, Telaga Tok Syeikh, Batu Kapal, Alor Naga waterfall and the Tangga Kenari steps.

The current race-day schedule gives the 50K a midnight start and 15-hour cut-off. The 25K starts at 7:00 am with eight hours, the 10K at 7:30 am with four hours, and the 5K at 7:45 am with two hours. This creates a full day of racing from the ultra start through to the afternoon finish window.

The event is organised by Northern Runners Resources with strong local-community involvement. A September update said around 300 nearby residents would support the event through technical crewing, food provision and other services, linking the race directly with local tourism and the geopark economy. At import time the live registration platform showed registration as closed.
