Event Detail
The 12th DASAL Invitational Trail Run (DXII) returns to Datu Salumay in the Marilog highlands of Davao City on 7–8 November 2026. This established Mindanao mountain-running gathering is part of the Asia Trail Master Grandmaster Quest calendar. For runners pursuing that recognition, the 80K is the qualifying category, while the shorter options open the event to a broader range of experienced trail runners.
The mountain challenge
The event is known for steep ascents, technical trails and changing conditions in the cooler uplands around Marilog. Asia Trail Master describes roughly 5,000 metres of climbing for the 80K. This is a demanding mountain ultra, rather than a flat or fast road race. Plan for extended climbing and descending, and use the organiser's latest course map, equipment instructions and aid-station details when available. Conditions can be cool at altitude despite Davao's tropical setting.
The official 2026 poster markets 80K, 42K, 21K and 12K categories. Race-data providers give longer measured estimates for certain routes, so the organiser's final GPX tracks and pre-race briefing should be treated as authoritative. The ATM Grandmaster Quest designation applies specifically to 80K; it does not extend automatically to all distances. ARC's distance selector does not include 80K, so that category is recorded here rather than incorrectly labelled 100K.
Arrival and race arrangements
Asia Trail Master identifies the Datu Salumay Elementary School grounds, beside the Sayre National Highway, as the start and finish area. The highland village lies in Marilog District, well outside central Davao City, so allow adequate travel time and check transport arrangements and any road restrictions in advance. The highway is served by public transport, but travellers should confirm service times before relying on it for early starts or a late finish.
The organiser's poster lists a post-race meal, RFID race bib, event souvenirs and category-dependent apparel among race entitlements. The advertised regular entry prices were PHP 4,900 (80K), PHP 3,900 (42K), PHP 3,300 (21K) and PHP 2,800 (12K). The stated registration period ended on 6 October 2026, or earlier if capacity was reached; do not assume late entry remains available. Exact category gun starts, mandatory kit lists and updated 2026 course files should be confirmed directly with the organiser before travel.
