Event Detail
Mountain Goat Challenge 2026 is organised by Mountain Goat Running Group (MGRG) through UTSG. This is not a normal mass-start race: registered runners first complete a self-supported qualification challenge, with the fastest qualifying runners invited to a separate finale.
Qualification: 4 July–20 November 2026 at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Complete two loops of approximately 10 km each, with about 750 m elevation gain per loop (around 20 km and 1,500 m climbing total). Published cut-off: 6 hours. Follow the prescribed route without deviations, self-support and self-navigate, respect park opening hours of 7am–7pm, and track the effort on an active Strava account. Attempts may be repeated. Email a public Strava activity link to mountaingoatsg@gmail.com by 11:59pm on the same day.
Finale: Saturday 21 November 2026 (men) and Sunday 22 November 2026 (women). The top 30 male and top 30 female qualifiers receive invitations. The finale has a different route from qualification; final start times and location are to be communicated by the organiser. ARC's listed 21–22 November date range refers only to the finale; the midnight timestamp is an administrative placeholder, not the official flag-off time.
Registration: closes 31 October 2026 at 11:59pm Singapore time. Standard entry SGD 20, with optional Altra T-shirt SGD 35 total. Past/current UTSG or MGRG runners pay a loyalty rate of SGD 10, or SGD 25 with the optional shirt. Stripe adds a 7% payment surcharge. Fees are non-refundable; deferral may be possible with an administration fee.
Included: electronic bib and electronic certificate. Sponsor prizes, UTMB Index and iTRA points are reserved for finale participants. The Altra shirt costs extra. The organiser recommends trail shoes, 500ml hydration, vest/belt, charged GPS watch and mobile, and energy supplies. Weekly familiarisation runs begin at 7am Saturdays from Bukit Timah Amenities Centre, with chat-group registration.
Check the official UTSG event page for the route, GPX, rules and registration.
