The Xterminator Singapore 2027

The Xterminator 2027 is an unusual free-entry elimination-format hill running challenge organised by Running Guild. The next edition is confirmed for Saturday 24 July 2027 at 4:00pm, at Lorong Sesuai in the Bukit Timah area of Singapore.

How the event works

Competitors run or walk a 700-metre lap: approximately 350 metres downhill along Lorong Sesuai, make a U-turn and climb 350 metres uphill back to the start. Each lap gains approximately 40 metres of elevation. Everyone starts together; after each lap, the last male and last female finisher are eliminated and cannot begin the next lap. The organiser's rules say that tied last-place finishers may both be eliminated. Racing continues until winners remain. The 700m is the distance per lap, not the full distance that each participant will complete.

Entry and registration

Entry is free, with a strict limit of 15 female and 15 male runners, first come, first served. The organiser states that registration will open in mid-2027. No registration form or closing date for the 2027 edition has been announced yet. Check the official Running Guild page for the eventual registration link, eligibility and updated rules.

Safety and conditions

This informal challenge takes place on a public road open to other users and vehicles. The organiser explicitly says no medical or first-aid support is provided and runners are responsible for their own safety and any medical expenses. Stay at the side of the road, watch for traffic and bicycles, respect other users and do not litter. Participants should read the organiser's full terms carefully before entering.
